Dr. Donaldson Conserve Receives NIH-NINR R01 Award to Promote Linkages to HIV Care for Men in Tanzania
Join us in congratulating Dr. Donaldson Conserve, PhD, MS on receiving a new R01 award from the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR). Dr. Conserve, an Associate Professor in the Department of Prevention and Community Health at GWSPH, will lead the study titled, "Implementation of an HIV Status-Neutral Nurse-Led Intervention to Increase Equity in Clinical Outcomes for Male HIV Self-Testers in Tanzania." This research builds on Dr. Conserve's previous work, focusing on innovative approaches to HIV care in Tanzania, particularly for heterosexual men facing barriers in traditional facility-based settings.

We’re pleased to announce that Gaspar Mbita will soon defend his PhD dissertation Breaking Chains, Building Hope: Innovative Strategies for Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic in Tanzania by 2030 at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Gaspar Mbita is an experienced health professional specializing in monitoring, evaluation, learning (MEL) and management for donor-funded health projects in Africa. He has extensive expertise in designing and implementing MEL systems, conducting evaluations, and project data management for improving health service delivery and system strengthening

Dr. Conserve Presents at DC CFAR and NIH
Dr. Donaldson Conserve recently delivered presentations for both the DC Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Conserve and his team shared research updates on their NIH-CFAR Supplement Award project, titled "Development of a Community-Based HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Service Delivery Intervention for Black Adults in the District of Columbia."
